TotalEnergies and Data4, Europe’s leading data center operator, have signed an agreement to supply renewable electricity with a stable consumption profile, known as Clean Firm Power, to Data4’s facilities in Spain. The contract, which begins in January 2026, spans ten years and covers a total volume of 610 GWh.

Under the agreement, TotalEnergies will deliver renewable electricity generated from Spanish wind and solar farms with a combined capacity of 30 MW, currently set to begin production. This deal strengthens TotalEnergies’ position as a preferred energy partner for major industrial players and supports the decarbonization of energy consumption across Europe.

Data4, established in six countries, has announced plans to invest nearly €2 billion by 2030 to expand its campuses in Spain. By partnering with TotalEnergies, Data4 aims to integrate renewable energy across all its locations, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and innovation in the rapidly growing data center sector.

Sophie Chevalier, Senior Vice President Flexible Power & Integration at TotalEnergies, stated: “Our Clean Firm Power solutions are tailored to meet clients’ needs in terms of cost, consumption profile, and environmental commitment. By combining renewable and flexible assets, we support our clients’ energy transition while achieving our target of 12 percent profitability in the power sector.”

François Sterin, Chief Operation Officer at Data4, added: “This agreement reaffirms Data4’s commitment to renewable energy at a time when energy demand for AI and digital services is expected to more than triple in Spain by 2030. Partnering with TotalEnergies ensures a stable and competitive long-term supply of carbon-free electricity and positions Madrid as one of Europe’s most attractive digital hubs.”

The Data4 agreement follows similar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) signed by TotalEnergies with major global companies, including STMicroelectronics, Saint-Gobain, Air Liquide, Amazon, LyondellBasell, Merck, Microsoft, Orange, and Sasol. These deals highlight TotalEnergies’ expertise in delivering customized renewable energy solutions that support corporate decarbonization goals worldwide.
