Greentech Lead U.K: Dulas, a provider of renewable- energy
services, has bought Scottish wind-mast supplier Chillwind, as it aims to
expand the operations in the wind power industry. Financial terms of the
transaction are not revealed.
The acquisition was supported by HSBC Commercial Bank.
The transaction was a response to the growing demand for
wind power solutions from the U.K market, according to company officials.
Chillwind makes meteorological masts for the assessment
of wind conditions in mountainous areas. The company has already been in
partnership with Powys, Wales-based Dulas for a decade.
Sanjay Bowry, CEO of Dulas
said, “This year, our 30th in business, has been a significant year for Dulas
as great strides have been taken to grow the business and develop our service
offering. This acquisition further demonstrates our commitment to expanding our
wind division in response to growing demand for wind power solutions across the
UK.”
Richard Tarves, Chillwind managing director, added,
“Having worked in close partnership with Dulas for over a decade, we are
delighted to be officially joining forces with one of the UK’s longest
established renewable energy companies.”
The U.K government is committed to promoting green
technologies. The expertise of both Dulas and Chillwind will help them support
the initiatives.
