Gamesa has signed new supply deals for 172 MW of turbines in India, reports RE Charge.
The contracts will see that Gamesa will deliver G97-2.0 MW machines to five wind farms in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

The deals come with medium-and long-term operation and maintenance (O&M) agreements. The turbines will be produced at Gamesa’s factories in India.
So far, the company has signed almost 500 MW of supply deals in 2014.
Gamesa is rivaling with local wind turbine firm Suzlon conquering Indian wind market, which is expected to resume growth due to favorable policy decisions.

Already, India is Gamesa’s second-biggest market, after Brazil. The company expects to gain sales in the country’s inexperienced offshore wind sector.
