China’s emerging PV manufacturer, YuanTech Solar, has reached a significant milestone by signing a supply agreement with Suntrans New Energy BV, a renowned solar solution provider based in Belgium. The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony attended by Jan Claesen, CEO of Suntrans, and Cao Mingjing, General Manager of YuanTech Solar.
As per the agreement, YuanTech Solar will supply a total of 40MW PV modules to Suntrans in the coming year. The first step of the collaboration involved the delivery of the initial 2.4MW of all-black N-type TOPCon modules, which has already been completed.
Jan Claesen and his team visited YuanTech Solar’s production base in Chuzhou on July 19, where they were deeply impressed by the intelligent production line and the high level of automation and efficiency in the manufacturing process. This visit further solidified their confidence in the partnership with YuanTech Solar. Claesen expressed his desire to continue the cooperation and work towards achieving mutual success in the future.
Belgium, located in Western Europe, boasts a highly developed economy but is dependent on foreign resources. In response to rapid economic growth and increasing electricity demands, the local government has implemented exclusive policies to promote the development of the clean energy industry.
Consequently, Belgium’s installed PV capacity surpassed 1GW as early as 2020. The latest data from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) reveals that by the end of 2022, Belgium’s total renewable energy capacity had reached an impressive 13.0GW, with photovoltaics accounting for over half of it, totaling 6.9GW.
Suntrans specializes in offering solar energy solutions to customers worldwide, including the design, prototyping, production, and logistics of solar mounting systems and storage solutions for solar energy installations. The collaboration between YuanTech Solar and Suntrans signifies a significant step in YuanTech Solar’s expansion into overseas markets, enabling the company to strengthen its brand influence on an international scale.
The agreement between YuanTech Solar and Suntrans represents a strategic move for both companies, contributing to the further growth of the renewable energy sector and advancing the adoption of clean energy solutions in Belgium and beyond.
