SolarEdge Technologies, a global provider of end-to-end solar power
optimization systems and monitoring solutions, has launched single phase solar
inverters for the North American market.
“The new
line of inverters represents an evolutionary step forward ensuring SolarEdge
products continuously meet the needs of the growing North American PV market.
The North American solar market is quickly adopting distributed power
optimization solutions as the industry focuses on ease of design and better
return on investment,” said
John Berdner, general manager for SolarEdge’s North America operations.
SolarEdge
inverters have 98 percent weighted average efficiency. The new range of
inverters is designed with an extended operating temperature range of -40°F –
140°F (-40°C – 60°C).
The
SolarEdge inverters will work with SolarEdge power optimizers for maximum
flexibility in system design for residential and commercial installations,
enabling full roof utilization for more modules and larger capacity per PV
system. The SolarEdge power optimizers perform MPPT per individual module while
monitoring the performance of each module and communicating across existing
power lines.
The range of
SolarEdge inverters is now extended to enhance design flexibility and grid
compatibility to 3kW, 3.8kW, 5kW, 6kW and 7kW single phase inverters with grid
support for 208, 240 and 277VAC.
SolarEdge
recently closed
a $37 million round of funding led by Norwest Venture Partners (NVP).
The funding
will enable the company to accelerate its global expansion and production plans
as well as strengthen its balance sheet. SolarEdge has experienced major growth
in the last two years and has become a globally recognized brand in solar power
harvesting and PV monitoring solutions. This funding will allow the company to
further enhance its leadership within the solar power optimization industry.
