Encon reduces carbon footprints with 100kW solar system on corporate headquarters

By Greentech Lead America: Encon, a Stratford based solar
energy systems provider, has installed a 100kW solar system on their corporate
headquarters in Stratford, Connecticut.

The system employs 407 SilikenĀ solar
panelsĀ and has the capacity to generate enough energy to power 16
homes for a year. The system is expected to offset approximately 30 percent of
Enconā€™s electrical usage annually. The system will operate at 33 percent
capacity even on a cloudy day, saving money and lowering Enconā€™sĀ carbon
footprint.Ā Ā

ā€œOur entire organization is excited about this project.
We truly believe that responsible business owners and homeowners should be
considering solar energy. Itā€™s the right thing to do. There are tremendous
environmental benefits and it also makes financial sense. We even have options
for systems to be installed with no money down that provide immediate savings
on energy expenses. Thatā€™s really a no-brainer,” Bill Valus, co-owner of Encon.

Encon recently had the Mayor of Stratford and his
economic development team tour their facility and see a solar array in person.
