Circular Energy, a provider of solar energy solutions, has teamed up with Roscoe Properties to develop the first multi-family solar property in Pflugerville, TX.

The 51 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system is the first solar powered multi-family property in Pflugerville as well as the first solar panel installation for Roscoe.

Under the City’s Climate Protection Plan, Austin has committed to producing 35 percent of local power requirements using renewable resources like solar energy by 2020.

According to Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) data, Texas installed 129 MW of solar electric capacity in 2014, ranking it eighth nationally. That figure is expected to more than double in 2015.

Roscoe Properties is the latest property management firm to take part in the energy renaissance that is sweeping across the metro-Austin area.

Over 200 solar panels now cover the roof of 1825 Place, generating over 69,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, which is enough electricity to cover approximately 30 percent of the complex’s annual power needs.

“Circular Energy’s solar power installation for Roscoe Properties illustrates a growing trend of multi-family properties that are going solar to lock in low, affordable energy rates,” said Walter Rumpf, marketing director of Circular Energy.

The installation was carried out at 1825 Place in Pflugerville, TX.

Circular Energy expects the system to produce over $142,000 in cumulative energy savings over the next 25 years.
