Greentech Lead America: Green Geek Electronics Recycling, a provider of recycling solutions to businesses of all sizes, announced it is opening a new facility in Linton, Indiana, and significantly expanding its range of service.
Green Geek Electronics Recycling provides services to customers in Indiana and Illinois, disposing of obsolete, damaged or unwanted electronics at no charge. It also provides secure data destruction for all storage devices processed in its facility.
The expansion will allow Green Geek to extend its services to more companies across the United States looking for an economical solution for recycling their e-waste.
Jake Thatcher, CEO, Green Geek Electronics Recycling, said, “Through the support of our clients and the Linton community, we have been fortunate to grow quite quickly. Our new location will allow us to handle more electronic waste from large organizations nationwide, which amounts to a cleaner, more environmentally friendly future for everyone across the country.”
Green Geek Electronics Recycling was established following the implementation of the Indiana Electronic Waste (E-Waste) Program in 2009. The law requires electronic waste to be handled by certified collectors and recyclers. Many other states have passed similar laws in recent years.
“There are a lot of hazardous materials in modern-day electronics that just don’t belong in landfills,” said Thatcher. “By offering free recycling services to local businesses and individuals throughout the region, Green Geek is doing its part to preserve the environment from the harmful chemicals and heavy metals common in today’s electronic devices.”
