EV Energy Partners\' Mark Houser promoted as President and CEO


EV Energy Partners (EVEP), announced that it has promoted
Mark A. Houser to President And Chief Executive Officer and John B. Walker, will
remain as executive chairman.

Walker, who is currently the CEO of Energy Partners, will step
down at the start of the New Year, when Houser takes over the new position.

“I am proud of our accomplishments, and appreciate
Mark’s leadership at EVEP. Mark’s long track record in acquisitions and company
management make him the obvious choice to assume a larger management role at
EVEP, providing me with more time to focus on long-term strategy,”
said
Walker.

Houser has joined as president and chief operating
officer from EVEP’s creation. He also serves as executive vice president and
COO of EnerVest, Ltd., which owns and manages certain institutional
partnerships of
EVEP.

Houser has more than 25 years of experience in the oil and
gas industry, serving in a number of roles of increasing responsibility with
Occidental Petroleum and Nexen (formerly Canadian Occidental). He began his
career with Kerr-McGee.

Houser holds a petroleum engineering degree from Texas
A&M University and a MBA from Southern Methodist University.

Recently EVEP announced it,
along with certain institutional partnerships managed by EnerVest, has
signed agreements with two unrelated companies to acquire over $1.2
billion of oil and natural gas properties located in the Barnett
Shale.
