Cascade Energy recognized for excellence in energy program design and implementation

By Greentech Lead Team: Cascade
Energy, the industrial energy efficiency experts, announced that the Bonneville
Power Administration (BPA) Energy Smart Industrial (ESI) program, for which
Cascade is the principal program partner, has been recognized for “Outstanding
Achievement in Energy Program Design or Implementation” by the Association of
Energy Services Professionals (AESP).

The ESI program was recognized for
its contribution and commitment to the advancement of the energy services
field; raising awareness of an energy services program; and representing “best
in class” design, implementation or evaluation of an energy services program.

Cascade assisted
in the redesign and implementation of the ESI program, and has worked closely
with industrial companies, utilities and BPA program representatives to
facilitate energy savings projects and achieve program goals.

 “In addition to helping design
and launch the ESI program in 2009, Cascade has been a steward of the program
and driver of energy reductions and cost savings in the Northwest industrial
sector. The ESI program delivered more than 40 average megawatts (aMW) in
verified energy savings in 2010-2011, a remarkable achievement that far
surpassed BPA’s goal of 27 aMW in that timeframe,” said Marcus
Wilcox, president and founder of Cascade Energy.

The ESI program works with
industrial facilities and their local utilities to deliver cost-effective
energy savings in a variety of market segments, including pulp and paper, wood
products, food processing, high technology, water/wastewater, mining and
others.

Utilities have an option to choose
ESI program components in which they would like to participate such as energy
project manager co-funding, track and tune projects, and high-performance
energy management,

“Cascade and our other program
partners, including Evergreen Consulting Group and Triple Point Energy
Services, have provided deep industrial expertise and regional presence. They
have been instrumental in program planning, implementation and administration.
And they have worked closely with the utilities and customers who benefit from
the program,” said Jennifer Eskil, Industrial Sector Lead at BPA.

Recently, Cascade and Americold
announced a three-year strategic partnership focused on reducing energy use and
related costs in Americold’s cold storage facilities.
